My Background

College Destinations was founded by Mike Perron.

For over twenty years I have worked with thousands of college-bound students of all backgrounds, financial means and abilities. My diverse educational career includes leading the admissions initiatives for a private nationally-recognized college, teaching at a public inner-city high school, and living at a private residential school for students with learning differences.

My career includes sixteen years in the admissions office of Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts.

For ten years I served as the Director and Dean of Admissions for undergraduate, graduate, transfer and international applicants. During that time Becker became a nationally and internationally-recognized college including being selected as one

of Princeton Review's "best colleges" in the country.  Unfortunately Becker could not maintain

this success as it closed three years after I left.

Since leaving Becker in 2018 I have taught at my alma mater high school in Worcester. My teaching background includes a wide array of classes such as Advanced Placement Government & Politics, Advanced Placement US History, US History I and II, Intro to Law, and Intro to Psychology. While teaching I continue to assist many college-bound seniors on personal

essay topics, college interview questions & preparedness, applying for & appealing financial aid packages,

and how to determine the right collegiate "fit". Prior to joining Becker College I worked at Eagle Hill School

in Western Massachusetts. As a residential counselor I lived with eighteen high school junior and senior

students who had a variety of learning differences including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder,

Tourette's syndrome and dyslexia.

Traditional and non-traditional-aged first year students, transfers, athletes,

homeschooled students, international students: my varied educational and professional experiences

have given me the tools to help you and your student navigate the challenging

college enrollment process. Together we will find the best academic, social and financial fit for your student!
